Everything I've seen on the internet about game design tells you to start with the mechanics, the gameplay; before you start worrying about sprites or graphics. But I had to see a little cycling sprite moving across a road to work out if I had to change what I had in mind, so I made a little bike sprite and a road for it to ride on. Let's put them in below:

Are they my finest work? Nah, course not! But it's given me a nice idea of what the bare minimum looks like and where I can push to imporve things. And I like that. A good first try. Next time I need to try and tackle obstacles and enemies...

So. After lots of procrastination, learning, forgetting, re-learning, *re-forgetting*, mind changed and then made up, we arrive here. I've been wanting to try and make a game for ages but I thought the code part looked impossible, learning a new language just to talk to machines, all a bit much all at once. But I remembered the hardest part of anything is starting, and the good thing about starting is you can start small. What's the saying? Make the thing, even if it's ugly, because what's important is you made the thing.

So. We start the first task. The website got made to make it "real", and I started my first GB Studio project file. I'm making a Bike Game and this is where I'll talk about that for a bit!
